The Rev. Andrew Walmisley, Ph.D

The Rev. Andrew Walmisley, Ph.D. was born in England and raised in California. He attended St. Columba’s often as a teenager in the early 70s, and here his priestly vocation was nurtured. After studying Theology at Exeter and Cambridge, England, he was ordained at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London and has served in parishes and schools in Tunis, London, Portola Valley, San Francisco, San Mateo, New York, Redwood City, Berkeley, and Maui. He holds an M.A. in Byzantine History and a Doctorate in Maui History and is in the midst of writing a History of Maui. Currently, he is serving as Associate Priest at St. Columba’s and lives with his husband, Jonathan Allen, in Point Reyes. They have two grown children, Mary, a veterinary student in Scotland, and Luke, in the school of hospitality management at the University of Hawai’i. Fr. Andrew is passionate about the Anglican tradition and its potential as a Christian path to inspire and engage all who seek a poetic, contemplative, and open-hearted faith journey.
