Dona Larkin
Dona feels blessed to have grown up in Northern CA during an era of environmental consciousness. She was educated by progressives who taught her to get involved in making change & to be conservative with earth's precious resources. As a student, her environmental group collected aluminum cans to fund efforts to block suburban sprawl onto nearby Mt. Diablo, elect progressive candidates, and go backpacking in the Sierra wilderness, where she first felt united with the Creator's Spirit.

Dona volunteered many years with the developmentally disabled, and taught preschool, but most of her working years were in hospitality, both in service & management. Then, after restoring a local old Victorian, she opened the Abalone Inn. She has been in Inverness 40+ years, raising her one amazing son, Ian, and being involved with various environmental & political causes. Historically, she has been a supporting member of West Marin Alliance, Inverness Park Association & Marin Organic. During her many years on the Board of the Chamber of Commerce, she created the downtown Visitors Center Kiosk in Point Reyes Station with her now deceased husband.
A self-described "Action Person," she organized many educational events along with Green Sanga, Zero Waste Marin & the Environmental Action Committee, promoting the dangers of plastics. Personally, the biggest educational environmental project was with Point Reyes National Seashore called Sustainable West Marin. It was a large park map highlighting all the groups and businesses within the local community doing sustainable work. The large 3'x4' poster highlighting the environmental consciousness of the region was displayed for many years in several prominent places, including both the NPS and Chamber Visitors Centers as well as at Tomales Bay Foods. She is currently volunteering on Fridays at the downtown Point Reyes Kiosk in support of a Cleaner California Coast.
